10 Scriptures for Finding Victory Over Insecurities

Transparency alert! As a Christian woman, I’ve struggle with insecurities my whole life. Some stem from traumatic experiences in the past, and others created by my own mind. As we pass through this world, there’s no doubt our insecurities will cause certain sensitivities we tend to keep hidden. When an uncomfortable situation arises, it’s only then that something we thought we overcame resurfaces. Here we are again: Standing face to face with this thing that is uglier than anything we are deceived to believe about ourselves.

In the midst of any dilemma, we automatically jump into “fight or flight” mode. My question is this: For every time we’ve come toe to toe with our insecurities, how many times did we choose to take flight into the arms of the Lord?

Too often, I’ve leaned on my own understanding. I fight myself, or flee to unhealthy isolation. But, God! Oh, how safe and warm His presence is. How faithful and true his promises are. I’ve listed 10 scriptures that help me gain victory over daunting insecurities. We have peace and reassurance in the One who does not lie about who we are.

The Truest Beauty Is In You.

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight (1 Peter 3:3-4).

You Are Stronger Than You Believe.

You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word.

My Prayer For You:

Heavenly Father, I lift up every woman reading this right now. I pray that you wrap yourself around this wonderful, wise, and worthy woman. I ask that you turn her insecurities into victories. May you show your daughter every single day how incredibly loved she is. May you grant her the serenity to be gracious to herself. Reveal to her the most intricate and delicate parts you’ve formed. Remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made in your image. Protect her from the lies of the enemy. Guard her heart against all deceit and wickedness. Pour down your Holy Spirit and transform her into the woman you called her to be in the name of Jesus. Amen.
