Apostle Paul passionately prays that the saints would be able to comprehend the love of Christ. In Ephesians 3, He says that Christ’s love “passes knowledge.” Indeed, it is impossible to understand or conceive the love of God in your mind. Why? Because there’s nothing like it on Earth.
There is no one and nothing else that offers pure, indiscriminate, unfiltered, unmerited, and unconditional love. We are His workmanship and He loves us as we are (Ephesians 2:10). Could you sacrifice your most beloved for those who would never appreciate it? Who you knew could never meet your standards? For people that would blatantly reject you? Or while knowing that they would despise you, blaspheme, make time for everything else but you, and so utterly disdain you no matter how hard you tried? The Father has willingly endured this for the world. Longing for our souls, He gave up Jesus, the One He loved most and allowed him to suffer for the prize of you and I (2 Corinthians 2:14, AMPC).
We were worth His coming down to face intense ridicule as He bled to fulfill the mission of redeeming us. In love, Jesus Himself agreed to the proposition not seeing it as robbery (Philippians 2:5-9).The cross that awaited Him was so heavy and hard, but we were the joy for which He chose to endure (Hebrews 12:2).
It is such a pleasure that we get to love Him back! Jesus tells us to love the Lord with everything in us (1 John 4:19, Matthew 22:37-38). Without the Lord personally revealing to us individually, how deep and complete His love is for us, we can never reciprocate it as fully as He so desires. But as we lean into His presence He overwhelms us and even teaches us how to do it (Deuteronomy 30:6).
May you enter into a fellowship of experiencing and reciprocating the love of Christ. We pray that in your meditation and communion with the Lord, your spirit will catch wind of God’s absolute adoration of you.
Dear reader, if you have not met Christ as your Lord and Savior, receive Him now. You have an open invitation to freedom and acceptance. God saw fit to win you to an everlasting Kingdom through Jesus Christ and draw you to Himself as His very own child. We echo Apostle Paul’s wishes: may we all comprehend and abide in Christ’s endless love!
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” — Ephesians 3:17-18
