Marriage is a Mystery

mys·ter·y
/ˈmist(ə)rē/
noun
1. something that is difficult or impossible to understand or explain.

The world’s largest jigsaw puzzle is 42,000 pieces. Love can be an awful lot like finding a match in the biggest puzzle game ever made. In this big world, the odds are not in your favor. Yet the Lord delivers because He designed every piece. I found mine during a very brief transition between schools.

A fruitful exchange of glances and smiles roused a substance in our souls that seemed to have been sleeping. The enemy despised our purpose with the same intensity that triggered his annoyance in the Garden. But my Lord God despised every adversary and took up the battle — for to the devious, He shows Himself shrewd. (Psalm 18:26)

I have pondered the journey and have tried to re-trace the steps and track the formula. The divine pattern works to the extent that we can emulate the passion and care  that Jesus Christ has for His Bride, the Church. As Jesus loves unconditionally and never gives up on even one of His sheep, we must never give up on each other. Love hopes all things (1 Corinthians 13). Each day we must choose to love and be filled with the Spirit — the source of love (Romans 5:5). Husbands and wives choose love, respect, and submission as unto the Lord (Ephesians 5).

I am blessed that I get to do ministry with my husband and fulfill our mutual purpose in Christ. There is no godly marriage without a divine purpose. We serve a wonderful God that makes all things beautiful in their time and season and longs to show forth the beauty of His design. It remains only for us to give Him glory for all His creations.
